(we're the only girl-grandchildren)
She came across some things that had my childish scribbles, old yearbooks, etc but what was really awesome was she came across an old painting I had made of my favorite Bible verse, Psalms 113:3. I remember that painting fondly and she always pointed it out to visitors.
But that's not the point of the story. That verse is essentially a command, one that I know I fail at everyday. Look at what it says:
"From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
Ever heard the phrase "All day, everyday"? My boyfriend uses it; often when we're joking about something or being sarcastic... but this phrase has some merit to it if you apply it to this verse. "From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets.." Sunrise. Sunset. 24 hours. Hmmmm.. I mean, I for one, would love to not to do anything except praise His Name out loud for 24 hours a day but that little thing called "life" tends to get in the way sometimes. We get behind, we don't pray every day like we should, we don't spend enough time in the Word, so many little distractions in life seem to get in the way but nevertheless, we are commanded to praise Him all day, every day.
So how do we do that? How do I do that? I'm not saying you have to sit on a street corner and shout praises for 24-hours, although that would be totally awesome... but i know I'm going to start praying more and I'm going to start loving more, and worshipping more, and little things that normally fall under a "distraction" and would take away say from homework or playing video games (which i love) and being a social butterfly.
I'm just gonna start praising Him... all day, every day.
